Synopsis
Human Lyra stumbles upon Kael, the Dragon King, and the two share a passionate night. Tricked by a fake prophecy, Kael casts her out — only for Lyra to bear his half-dragon daughter, Amber. Years later, she returns seeking a healer to save her sick child. Old sparks reignite, jealous rivals plot, and hidden blood ties surface as they fight for their family and their broken love.
The official DramaBox page lists 50 episodes, and the show sits in the platform’s Romance category with fantasy and revenge-arc tags — this is firmly the dragon-romance shelf, not the boardroom.
Why it works
This hits the genre’s three strongest beats in sequence: the doomed first encounter, the time-skip with a secret child, and the reunion that has to be earned rather than assumed. The fake prophecy is a genuinely smart addition — it gives Kael’s cruelty an external cause, so the second-chance arc has somewhere real to go. Without it, he’d just be a man apologizing for being terrible; with it, he’s a man who was manipulated into a mistake he’s spent years paying for, and the story becomes about untangling the lie as much as rekindling the love.
The second half stays busy too. Jealous rivals plotting against the reunion and hidden blood ties surfacing keep the back half from sagging into pure domestic sweetness — there’s always a scheme in motion and a secret about to break.
Watch out for
Fifty episodes is a commitment, and the middle stretch leans hard on rival-scheming — the jealous-rival subplot gets more screen time than it strictly needs. If you binge the first arc and feel the pull, you’re safe; if you’re skimming by episode 20, the rest won’t change your mind. And note the page doesn’t confirm a completed status, so check whether all episodes are available before you invest — DramaBox sometimes drips longer series.
