Synopsis
Mia’s life implodes at 30,000 feet: on the flight to her best friend’s tropical wedding, she catches her fiance cheating. Drowning her sorrows, grad student Mia has a drunken hookup with Damien, a mysterious silver-fox billionaire. Then she arrives at the wedding and discovers Damien is the bride’s father. Cue a chaotic wedding weekend of jealous exes, sabotage, and two people desperately hiding a forbidden attraction.
Why it works
This is social-destruction comedy-horror, and it knows it. The tension isn’t “will they get together” — it’s “how long before the wedding explodes.” Every scene is staged around near-misses, and the tropical-wedding setting traps everyone in the same resort so there’s nowhere to hide. The age-gap bait keeps working because the show never pretends it’s anything but scandalous.
Watch out for
If the best-friend’s-dad setup squicks you out, nothing in 51 episodes will change your mind. And the fiance who started all this keeps scheming, because of course he does.
